Pinterest in Real Life - Pinterest projects don’t always go as planned. Often the end result doesn’t look like the perfect pictures, but it’s not about how it looks. The important thing is that you’re exposing your kids to new shared experiences. It doesn’t have to be Pinterest perfect to be fun or playful.
I saw these paper fish and thought it would be the perfect Pinterest project while on vacation. They look cool but also really simple and easy to make. I first saw them in this pin but it didn’t include directions, so I found direction in this pin from mini eco. I didn't measure, just cut strips of construction paper. We made 16 fish from only 2 pieces of construction paper!
My daughter chose to decorate them - she even made a rainbow that was connected only when the fish was completed.
My 3 year old son kept it to simple, white pieces of paper for the fish. He was able to connect the slits to make the fish by himself. He also made a sun design with his completed fish.
The idea is that you throw them in the air and that they slowly twirl down. This kept them busy and entertained while I was preparing lunch, and they definitely wanted to play longer. It was a ton of fun, and I think we'll be making more!
